Virtual Education Intern
FoodChain’s Media Education internship is designed for a student who has experience with video production and design. This position will work with our Education team, Farm Managers, and other key FoodChain staff, to help prepare and disseminate virtual instructional videos to provide broader education from our existing operations. There is room in this internship for creativity and new ideas to provide learning centered around local, fresh food to youth and adults alike. Training on camera equipment and video editing software will be provided to intern by FoodChain staff.
The duration of the internship will be 1 semester (summer, fall, or spring). Learning outcomes for students will be increased knowledge of the educational offerings of FoodChain- kitchen and farm, as well as community engagement through a virtual content. Interns will also gain knowledge on the use of Youtube, Facebook, Instagram in a non-profit setting. The student will work closely with and be supervised by the Director of Education and Outreach, reviewing their work and hours on a weekly basis. This internship is for 20-40 hours per week, depending on the schedule and availability of the student. Students will have the opportunity to tie the internship directly to their field of study through development of projects and ideas related to the educational offerings of FoodChain. For students in the College of Journalism and Media, they will be able to utilize skills they have learned in classes to create videos and digital content that furthers the mission of FoodChain. This is an unpaid internship.
